This tour takes you as close as possible to the Man of The Millennium, Johannes Gutenberg. You will see an original Gutenberg Bible from the 1450s - one of the most famous books in the world - and a live printing demonstration showing you how it was printed. Afterwards, we will visit some of the important places associated with the life of the man responsible for starting the Printing Revolution and ushering in the modern era.

Gutenberg Museum In one of the world's oldest museum dedicated to books, printing and writing, you will enter the high-security vault and get a close-up view of the Gutenberg Bible printed around 1450 in Mainz. Understand the impact of this masterpiece by the "Man of the Millennium". Another highlight is the live printing demonstration; sit down for 15 minutes and see how letters were cast and how pages were printed nearly 600 years ago by Johannes Gutenberg in his local workshop. See beautiful historic printing presses and learn about the many different aspects of the first generation of printed books.

St. Christoph-Kirche After the museum, you will visit the places where Johannes Gutenberg worked and lived as well as his birthplace, the church where he was baptised, the remains of his workshop and his burial site.

Gutenbergplatz We will stop at Bertel Thorvaldsen's impressive statue of Johannes Gutenberg standing over the square named after him and learn more about his life and how he worked.
